Notes

April 2, 2014: This playground was built with a lot of fundraising. It's in a park with mainly sports, including a tennis club. The layout is odd. The tennis club and the outdoor rink change rooms and warm-up space are in the same building, next to the playground, but with separate realities. The tennis club part has lots of windows and a comfortable sitting area, whereas the rink side has a mean little warren of change rooms, no windows, and two big vending machines -- no social space at all. The park is surrounded by very large houses, and perhaps that's why there's no sense of needing wintertime public space to gather. But in the summer, neighbours can gather at a sports club or a playground.
