CELOS Annual general meeting 2023

June 12, 2024, from 6 until 7.30. Annual general meeting for the year 2023.

Proper notice was given to the members, all of whom are directors.

Present at CELOS headquarters: board members Jane Price (president), Lily Weston, Mary Jane Young, Lea Ambros (treasurer). Also: Mayssan Shuja Uddin (admin assistant) and Jutta Mason (administrator).

1. The 2022 AGM minutes and financial statement were briefly discussed. Motion to accept: Jane Price. Seconded: Lily Weston. Approved.

2. Elections: no board members resigned. The entire slate stands again. Motion to confirm this: Mary Jane Young. Seconded: Lily Weston. Approved.

3. The 2023 Financial report: Jutta Mason presented the financial report. Motion to accept, pending review which took place by email: Jane Price. Seconded Lea Ambros. Approved.

General discussion, as Jutta reported on the activities of the past year.

From the CRA report:
- Continued to maintain and update 5 public space websites
- continued supporting the Dufferin Grove Park food garden/native species co-operative
- continued liaising with city park staff
Nayssam did a new rink booklet and we sent a copy to every councillor ($800)
Restarted the oven (south) with Shauna
Did sandpit with Mayssan + Livia + Vijay – raised funds through individual small donations to do this, did a “mud kitchen,” playcart, crafts done by city staff

Skylar got a pollinator grant, did new plantings and also workshops with a few classes

Started rink clubhouse project with Elizabeth – looking at other rinks across the city to see which ones might work for becoming a clubhouse with little money

The reconstructions of the rink, rink house and the basketball court (Frank Pellegrino Co., contractor) were ongoing during 2022.

There were encampments in various parts of the park.
