NATIVE MEDICINAL GARDEN

We are coordinating a City of Toronto Neighbourhood Beautification Intiative. The challenge is to turn an area along the Lakeshore Blvd. sidewalk (near Bathurst St.) into a medicinal garden using native Ontario plants. The length of the garden is about a 100m dash -- a nice patch!

The North American Native Plant Society (NANPS) is helping design the garden, donating plants, and helping us plant. They are dedicated to the study, conservation, cultivation and restoration of native plants.

We began planting in spring 2007, and hope to have all plants in the ground by fall 2008. If you are interested in joining this initiative, have native plants to donate, herbal expertise to offer, or just want to learn about native plants and get your hands dirty, please contact us.

We would like to thank the City of Toronto and Toronto Community Housing Corporation for their generous support of the Native Medicinal Garden.
